Our Resident Writers

Alice Bryant Huang spent her childhood in Taiwan before returning to Houston at twelve. Since high school, she has been tutoring students on a variety of subjects, especially English for non-native speakers. During all four years at Yale College, she enjoyed many creative writing courses, in addition to writing, performing, and directing original autobiographical monologues for the group Jook Songs. She is currently living in Beijing—where she had translated museum publications two summers ago at the former Forbidden City—to teach (and learn) while traveling. She plans to continue teaching abroad, or volunteering in medicine with the Peace Corps, after her residency at Edgewood Arts.

Matthew Kozlark recently graduated from Yale with a degree in English and a concentration in Creative Writing. He has published works of fiction and nonfiction, and served as Artistic Director of the Viola Question, an improv comedy group, in 2007.
